The last time I visited a safari world was in 2007, in Bangkok, Thailand. That´s me in the photo above and that´s how I looked five years ago. You´ll also notice my outfit, I had a thing for cowboy looks during the time, and I still do. So when Kristen suggested I write about what outfits to wear for a visit in the Safari, as a hint for her soon visit in South Africa, I reminiscent, and I remember how visiting a safari park was a great experience. Important advice: don´t forget to bring a good camera.
Although I haven´t been to South Africa yet, a place I hope to visit in the future, I know that tourists love her for her sunshine and that the temperature is generally warm. If you too are planning to visit the Safari, here are some outfits I´d suggest to make your experience even more wonderful.
Safari Outfit for Summer
South Africa´s summer (mid-October to mid-February) is characterized by hot, sunny weather. You´ll experience often afternoon thunderstorms that clear quickly, leaving a warm, earthy, uniquely African smell in the air. I suggest wearing pieces and colors that avoid trapping the heat such as sleeveless or cropped cotton top and denim shorts. Create a cowboy feel to go with the event, wear laced up dark brown flat boots and cowboy hat. Don´t forget to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun and thunderstorms.
Safari Outfit for Fall or Spring
During fall and spring, expect very little rain. The temperature is warm but not hot. Wear a sleeveless dress teamed with bright smoking slippers, a crossbody bag to carry your water and some necessities, a fedora hat to protect your head from the sun, and of course, sunglasses. Carry around a lightweight cardigan, put it in your bag or wear it over your shoulders like a scarf, so that anytime it rains, you have a wrap around.
Safari Outfit for Winter
In winter (May to July), it´s sunny during the day while cold during the night, so make sure to bring something warm if you plan to visit the safari during this time. Wear a cotton, lightweight sweater with floral pants and complementary sneakers for a day´s outfit but prepare a thicker sweater or jacket to layer over once it starts to cool later on the day. A cute bonnet will add some interest to your look while also keeping your head warm.

ReplyDeleteI haven´t been to the Safari in Africa but I really look forward to visiting it. Safari in Thailand is really great, it´s quite large, lots of beautiful creatures, lots of shows, and there´s a wild place where you can also go sight seeing while inside a car or a bus for safety.
