Hey everyone! I have a great restaurant review for you today. Last week, we dined at Hearth for the fiance's birthday dinner. Hearth actually used to be Salt, and it's down in the East Village in NYC. Before I tell you what we ate, just a heads up that on Tuesdays they have an actual Pig Roast with beer and wine pairings. Needless to say, we'll be back for sure!
Hearth specializes in local and in-season ingredients. The menu even includes a full list of where their products come from. Since their menu is seasonal and not online, I will do my best to explain the dishes we had. The waiter and staff were incredibly attentive, nice, and the service was neither too fast or too slow. Just right! And the food, was so delicious. Everything was so fresh, simple, and prepared with love.
*Side-note. I don't like to take my camera to dinners. Flashing is obnoxious in the evening... and so is acting like a mediocre foodie so I just stuck with Instagram... Wait, that makes me even more pretentious. Oh well! And if you are wondering where the flares came from, download the LensLight APP... it's addicting. Instagram should marry it.
We opted for the tasting menu.
Fava Bean and Pecorino Salad
Smoked Salmon and Farro Salad
Duo of Quail (Leg and Egg)
Braised Pork and Pappardelle (amazing!)
Roasted Pork & Beans
Keylime Sorbet
Cherry Upside-down Cake & a Message
